Rules and Regulations

 

Open Enrollment Policy

Hayat Children’s Center practices an Open Enrollment Policy. Children are admitted to our Center as space permits without any regard to Race, Color, Religion, Sex, or Ethnic Background. We believe in the Oneness of Humanity, and that we are all the Rays of One Sun, the Waves of One Ocean, and the Fruits of One TreeTOP

Equal Treatment of Clients

We do not discriminate by reason of Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Marital Status, Handicap, Age, or National Origin in services and accommodations offered and provided to our employees, clients, or guests. TOP

Discipline

Disciplining children involves giving direction and guidance, and explaining unacceptable behavior. Yelling or spanking will NOT be permitted at HCC. Children will be given constructive ways to deal with their anger and frustration. Any severe behavioral problem will be reported to the parents.  TOP

Dismissal from Center

If the Executive Director, Director, and staff find that a particular child poses a safety hazard to himself or other children, and find that this Center is not the appropriate and best environment to meet this child's individual needs to the fullest, a parent conference will be held and a two-week notice of dismissal will be given.  Under some circumstances, immediate dismissal may be warranted. Rest Period/Nap Time

Maryland Regulations require a rest period for all children under the age of six years. Please note the following:

  1. Individual cots will be provided by HCC.
  2. You are required to furnish a cot sheet and a small lightweight blanket. Small pillows will be the most comforting (no regular bed pillows).
  3. All items should be LABELED with your child's name.
  4. BEDDING should be brought in on MONDAY, and taken home to be washed on FRIDAY. TOP

 

Medical Forms

The following medical forms must be completed before a child can attend HCC:

  1. Health Inventory- Child's Personal Record (DHR/CCA1215).
  2. Health Inventory- Child's Personal Record (Addendum).
  3. Maryland Immunization Certificate (DHMH 890,Rev.4/96).
  4. Medication Order Form (DHR/CCA1216,Rev.1/95).
  5. Emergency Information (DHR/CCA1214,Rev.3/95 ).   TOP

Medical Treatment 

The Maryland Department of Human Resources and Regulations prohibits HCC from administering any type of medication to a child without written permission from that child's physician, including all non-prescription medicines.  All medications must be authorized using Form DHR 582. TOP

Sickness 

Children who are sick with contagious disease or fever may not attend HCC. If your child becomes sick while attending the Center, the Director/ Staff will call you requesting that you pick up your child as soon as possible. TOP

Emergency Information 

You must continuously update all information on your child’s Emergency Card.  Any changes in address or phone numbers must be reported to HCC  immediately. TOP

Late Pick-up Fee

A fee of $3 for every minute after 6:30pm will be charged for late pick-ups.  For Pre-school, this fee will be assessed after 1pm for the Morning program.    TOP

Winter Weather Policy

SNOW, ICE, SLEET, FREEZING RAIN, HURRICANES, BLACK-OUTS, etc.

  • If Montgomery County Public Schools close, or open 1 or 2 hours late, HCC will be opening two hours late at 8:30 am.
  • For up-to-date Center closings, please call the administration at (301) 916-8017.
  • OR check our announcements on local channels FOX (5) or WRC (4).
  • Check with the Center for early closing (inclement weather). TOP

Two Weeks Deposit 

Hayat Children's Center requires that you pay a Two Weeks Deposit at the time of your child's registration. This deposit will cover your child's last two weeks at HCC.   A Two Weeks Written Notice is required when you are ready to leave HCC. If you withdraw your child without giving HCC this notice you will forfeit your Two Weeks Deposit.

The following three payment plans are your options for paying the deposit: 

·   Two Weeks deposit paid in full at the time of registration.

·   One-week deposit paid at the time of registration, with the 2nd week of the deposit being paid in two equal installments. 

·  For a family of two children or more, 25% of the deposit must be paid at the time of registration. The remaining 75%   may be paid in three equal installments. TOP
